A catch is a photo, a weight, maybe a lure — the part you want to remember. The part that made the fish eat — pressure drift, wind shift, moon phase, water temp, tide, the lake's name, the nearest gauge — is the other ninety percent, and it's the part you'd lose by tomorrow morning. Hank is the AI inside the app. He reads your structured log — weather, pressure, water, lure, gear — and answers the questions a guide on your boat would answer. What you had working in July of 2025. What pattern you'd try tomorrow given a falling barometer and mid-50s water. When you chat, Bassai sends your message, prior Hank chat context, saved Hank profile, and visible trip or catch details needed to answer. He does not receive raw GPS, photo filenames, or your private notes.
A tap on a catch renders a 9:16 card from the photo, the weight, and the conditions you fished. Catch cards have no map, no path, no GPS — the spot stays yours. The watermark reads Bassai · bassai.com · @getbassai, every time, everywhere the card goes.
Every condition you log — pressure, water temp, wind, tide, lure, result — becomes one data point. In aggregate, fuzzed to protect spots, anonymized, and opt-in, those data points become a map of the conditions bass actually eat under. Not the conditions YouTube says they eat under. Not the conditions a bait company wants them to. The actual, observed, empirical ones.
